Veronika Šrek Bromová is not only a great artist, but also an amazing teacher. Her students had an exhibition today and this is one of the artworks:
Depth of Goodness
This project can be considered as a connection of street art and photography. However, its formal representation is not as important as the idea itself. It consists of the stickers with quotations from the Bible, which are placed all over Prague. It represents not only the Christian concept of supernatural power, but it addresses all people regardless of their religion. These stickers do not contain the Biblical references or the direct mention of God, and these facts hide a message that the Bible (as well as different ideas of other religions) can be beneficial for everybody.
Depth of Goodness tries to point out that today’s society is full of meaningless fights between different kinds of people or religions, and also religious extremism and a lack of morality. Each sticker and its placement have a special meaning, which either makes a contrast or emphasizes the idea. It should not evoke a naïve view on society and humanity, because it only refers to the fact that “being good is good.”
