Gallery 19 is a small gallery in Bratislava, Slovakia. It tries to present the works of artists, who connect visual arts with understanding of the relationships between humans and the place, which can become genius loci for the meetings and understandings of the art that makes us better people. Gallery 19 is the place to go if you want to see exciting Slovak and Czech visual art of the 20th and 21st century. These premises are constantly filled with all things contemporary – from colorful paintings to abstract objects. The gallery has provided a platform for all people who have an interest in fine arts.
This small gallery now holds an exhibition of Peter Kotvan, which is called At The Same Time (Naraz).
Peter Kotvan is the artist, who combines many styles or materials in his artworks. His work is specific due to the paintings created by headbutting or rotating plates. At The Same Time also shows us the glass paintings or the paintings that were created by gradual drying of paint and Kotvan also offers us the damaged books that actually lost their content. One of the most interesting works of this exhibition is undoubtedly the glass, which hides the piano concert and therefore it represents a connection of music and its visual representation. This work was enriched by the help of the pianist Elena Letňanová. Peter Kotvan has brought our perception into the new level and we could enjoy the atmosphere of unusual and sophisticated thought processes.
And what can you do at the same time?
